Product Information
Composition
Diosmin 1000 mg.
Therapeutic Effects
Flaben 1000 helps improve symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs such as leg heaviness, leg pain and fatigue, numbness, nocturnal cramps, and edema.
It also supports the treatment of hemorrhoidal disease by relieving pain, reducing inflammation and swelling, and limiting bleeding during acute hemorrhoidal episodes.
Indications
Flaben 1000 is indicated for the treatment of venous and lymphatic circulation disorders, including chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs.
It is also used for the treatment of symptoms associated with acute and chronic hemorrhoidal disease.
Pharmacodynamics
Diosmin acts directly on the venous wall, increasing venous tone and reducing excessive venous distensibility.
It inhibits leukocyte activation and adhesion to the vascular endothelium, thereby reducing inflammatory processes in the vessel wall.
Diosmin also reduces the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and thromboxanes, contributing to the reduction of pain and edema in venous disorders.
Pharmacokinetics
After oral administration, Diosmin is absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract and metabolized into diosmetin, its active form.
Peak plasma concentrations are reached within a few hours.
The active substance is mainly distributed in the venous system and related tissues.
Diosmin is primarily excreted in the feces, with a small portion eliminated via urine.
Its relatively long half-life allows once-daily dosing.
Dosage and Administration
The usual dose of Flaben 1000 is 1 tablet daily, taken during or after meals.
In acute hemorrhoidal attacks, higher doses may be used during the initial days as directed by healthcare professionals, followed by a maintenance dose.
